The student body is led by the Head Boy and the Head Girl who are assisted by the Vice Head Boy and the Vice Head Girl. Each house is headed by a House Captain and a Vice House Captain. The Student Council also has a Sports Captain and a Cultural Secretary.
Students of class IX, X & XI are evaluated by all their teachers not only for their academic performances but also for their participation in extracurricular activities. The behaviour, discipline and attitude of the students are observed and considered while nominating them to the Student Council. Nominees are then required to present their election manifesto in the school assembly. On the day of election, the profiles of the contestants are screened on the e-boards to facilitate & ensure a smooth election of the candidates into the Student Council by the students.
This five-fold approach to student safety has been followed by our school.
DIS believes that a healthy body promotes a sound mind. There are facilities to deal with the routine health problems of the students. Regular medical checkups are organised by the school to ensure good health and well being of the students. Physical fitness and oral hygiene camps are an integral part of our health education.
Parents should inform the school authorities regarding children with physical disabilities. Special attention can be paid to the concerned child. All parents are requested to impart Health Education to their children. Students suffering from infectious diseases such as Conjunctivitis, Dermatitis, and Scabies etc should not be sent to school until they have fully recovered.
Delhi International School has laboratories that are equipped with latest & modern facilities. Each year, labs are renovated and new equipment is added, all in a continuous drive to keep DIS at the fore-front of new and emerging technologies in every single field.

The school library stocks books on a variety of subjects, and new books are added every year. The librarians assist students to pick authors and subjects that best suit their interest, in the process inculcating the habit of avid reading. Continuous and all round development of the children is the brainwave behind the functioning of the school library.
